One of Largest Arms Manufacturers in Europe Opens Branch in Ukraine
The French-German holding KNDS, a manufacturer of Leopard tanks and Caesar howitzers, now has its own company in Kyiv.
This was reported by the company's press service.
The opening of this branch was announced in June. The purpose of KNDS Ukraine is to maintain, repair and overhaul KNDS weapons: Leopard 1 and Leopard 2 tanks, Caesar, AMX10 RC, PzH 2000 artillery systems and Gepard anti-aircraft systems.
It is noted that the company will support cooperation between Ukrainian government agencies, the Ukrainian defence industry and KNDS.
In addition, KNDS intends to partner with the Ukrainian industry to organise joint production of 155 mm artillery ammunition and spare parts using advanced production technologies.
The company said that Ukraine is using or has contracted nearly 800 weapons and ammunition produced by the French-German company on the front line. This makes it one of Ukraine's most important industrial partners.
KNDS is one of the largest arms conglomerates in Europe, founded by the German company KMW and the French company Nexter. Its portfolio includes main battle tanks, armoured vehicles, artillery systems, ammunition, bridge builders, etc. The flagship products are Leopard tanks and Caesar self-propelled artillery systems.
As The Gaze previously reported, in June, KNDS and the Ukrainian company KZVV signed a contract for the production of 155 mm artillery shells in Ukraine.
