Over 40 Missiles and More Than 70 Drones: Russia Launches Another Massive Attack on Ukraine’s Gas and Energy Facilities
During a massive missile attack on the morning of 15 January, the Russian army fired more than 40 missiles, including ballistic missiles, at Ukraine. At least 30 of them were destroyed. There were also more than 70 Russian attack drones overnight.
This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the morning.
According to him, the targets include gas infrastructure and energy facilities.
‘Another Russian massive strike. It is the middle of winter, and the target for the Russians remains the same: our energy sector. The targets include gas infrastructure and energy facilities that ensure normal life for people,’ Zelenskyy wrote.
He added that thanks to the air defence and all the units involved, the Ukrainian energy system is still functioning.
Zelenskyy also noted that Ukraine constantly needs to strengthen the existing capabilities of the Ukrainian air defence system.
‘Partners at the NATO summit in Washington and in the Ramstein format made promises that have not yet been fully implemented. We also talked about licences for the production of air defence systems and anti-missiles, which can become one of the effective security guarantees for Ukraine, and this is also realistic and must be fulfilled,’ the President added.
