Ukrposhta Issues Stamp With President Zelenskyy's Quote on Budapest Memorandum

Ukraine's state-owned postal service Ukrposhta has issued a stamp dedicated to the Budapest Memorandum, featuring a quote from President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his recent podcast with US journalist Lex Friedman: ‘The Budapest Memorandum is bull..t’. 

Ihor Smelyansky, CEO of Ukrposhta, announced the stamp on his Facebook page. According to him, the new product is already available for purchase online. 

‘We have chosen the Solomonic solution - we have issued the stamp as part of the ‘Own stamp’ project. Those who want to can buy it. And if you don't like the idea, you can always ignore it. This is democracy and freedom of speech in action,’ Smelyansky said. 

The cost of the paper sheet which contains nine stamps is 600 hryvnias (about 14 euro).

In a recent podcast with Lex Friedman, Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine needs reliable security guarantees that go beyond ‘paper agreements.’ He noted that the guarantor countries of the Budapest Memorandum did not care about Ukraine's fate at the time.
