Polish PM Promises to Speed Up Ukraine's Accession to EU at Meeting With President Zelenskyy in Warsaw
During a meeting with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Warsaw, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk promised to help speed up Ukraine's accession to the European Union. He said this during their joint press conference.
‘We talked about this path to the European Union. There are two things I would like to make clear. The Polish presidency will allow us to break the deadlock that has been evident in recent months. We will work together with Ukraine and our European partners, and unconditionally, to speed up the EU accession process as much as possible,’ said Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
He also said that Russia was preparing terrorist attacks not only against Poland but also against airlines around the world. Tusk referred to the meeting of the leaders of the countries held on Tuesday in Finland, where they discussed security in the Baltic Sea, in particular Russian acts of sabotage.
‘These acts of sabotage are a version of the war that Russia has declared on the whole world, not just Ukraine. They require joint action, and Poland plays a key role in countering acts of sabotage and sabotage that have taken place not only on Polish territory,’ Tusk said.
He added that the latest data confirms that Russia is preparing terrorist attacks against airlines. ‘Russia was planning an air terror - not only against Poland, but also against airlines around the world,’ the Polish prime minister stressed.
On 15 January, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy travelled to Poland. One of the key issues of his visit is to discuss progress in resolving the historical issues of the Volyn tragedy, including the issue of exhumations.
