Prince Harry, who turned 39 on September 15, celebrated his birthday with Meghan at a traditional German beer bar in Düsseldorf, where he enjoyed sausages, schnitzel, and six types of beer. This was reported on the establishment's social media page.

The bar staff described members of the royal family as "wonderful" and noted that they left "generous tips." They ordered dishes with red cabbage and mashed potatoes. While Harry celebrated with six pints, his wife only had one small drink, according to the Daily Mail.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the Invictus Games, where they watched sporting events and a medal presentation ceremony late into the evening. Afterward, they enjoyed a night out in Düsseldorf with friends.

Visitors to the Im Goldenen Kessel restaurant-bar were asked not to take photos of the couple. Instead, they simply recounted seeing Prince Harry laughing and joking when food was brought to their table. Harry looked moved and excited when a celebratory cake was presented to him at the end of the evening.

Harry and Meghan posed for photos with the restaurant's owner, Tea Ungermann, and the headwaiter, Frank Vickers, who has worked at the restaurant for 38 years.

This birthday for Harry passed without any social media recognition from the royal family. In the past, the Duke of Sussex's birthday was traditionally celebrated online through official royal family accounts.

After relinquishing their senior royal roles in 2020, Prince Harry and the 42-year-old Meghan moved to her home state of California later that year.

When Meghan turned 42 in August, members of the royal family did not publicly acknowledge the occasion as they had done in previous years with a photo and a brief message.

However, neither @RoyalFamily (the page that monitors King Charles, Queen Camilla and other royals' work) nor @KensingtonPalace (Prince William and Kate Middleton's joint account) marked the occasion this year.

Another royal birthday tradition that has changed in recent years is the ringing of the bells at Westminster Abbey.

Last year, it was announced that the bells would only be rung for the birthdays of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles. Following the death of Queen Elizabeth in September 2022, Westminster Abbey again altered the schedule of birthdays to be marked by the bells.

Now, King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Princess Kate have the privilege of bell ringing on their birthdays.
