67th GRAMMY Awards: Beyoncé Wins Her First 'Album of the Year' and Becomes the Most-Nominated Artist
The 67th GRAMMY Awards ceremony has ended in Los Angeles, USA. The Album of the Year award went to Beyoncé for her album Cowboy Carter.
Beyoncé also became the leader in the number of nominations this year with 11: her album Cowboy Carter and individual singles from it were presented, in particular, in the categories of Album of the Year and Best Country Album, Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Best Country Song (Texas Hold ‘Em). The 11 nominations for Cowboy Carter are comparable to Michael Jackson's Thriller for the most nominations for a single album.
Beyoncé also became the first black woman to win Album of the Year in 26 years since Lauryn Hill's The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.
Her album Cowboy Carter is the first country album to win the highest award since Casey Musgraves' Golden Hour in 2019.
At the same time, one of this year's leaders in terms of the number of nominations, Billie Eilish, has not received a single Grammy statuette out of 7 nominations.
For Jimmy Carter, who was nominated before his death in December 2024, this is actually his fourth Grammy. His posthumous Grammy Award joined his three previous ones for Best Spoken Word Album.
