Russia Fires 415 Drones and 40 Missiles in One of Biggest Strikes on Ukraine

Russia unleashed one of its largest aerial assaults on Ukraine overnight, firing about 415 drones of various types and more than 40 cruise and ballistic missiles across 15 regions.
The Gaze reports, citing statements from Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and other officials.
The attacks caused widespread damage and civilian casualties. In Zhytomyr region, at least one person was killed and another wounded after kamikaze drones and cruise missiles struck industrial areas and residential buildings, regional officials said.
In Berdychiv, part of Zhytomyr region, all incoming fire was concentrated on the industrial zone, sparking large blazes. Local authorities confirmed that schools in the city would switch to mixed learning formats because of the damage.
In Khmelnytskyi region, a missile strike destroyed a sewing factory and damaged a gas station, vehicles and surrounding homes, according to regional governor Serhii Tiurin.
Three people were injured and remain under medical care. Rescuers continued to clear rubble and assess the scale of destruction throughout the morning.
Lutsk, in northwestern Ukraine, also came under drone attack. Mayor Ihor Polishchuk said there were no reports of serious infrastructure damage, though debris from downed drones was discovered in several neighborhoods.
“This was one of Russia’s largest strikes yet: about 415 drones and more than 40 cruise and ballistic missiles. Fifteen of our regions were under attack,” Zelenskyy wrote on social media. He confirmed that at least one civilian was killed in Zhytomyr region and expressed condolences to the victim’s family.
Ukrainian air defenses reported intercepting many of the incoming threats, including 386 drones and 27 missiles, but officials stressed that the scale and intensity of the attack underscored Moscow’s continued use of mass terror tactics against civilian infrastructure and industrial targets.
