Russia Launches Another Massive Missile Attack on Ukraine, Firing 64 Missiles of Various Types
Overnight on February 7th, Russia carried out a mass missile strike on Ukraine. The aggressor nation targeted six regions of Ukraine, launching 64 cruise and ballistic missiles, along with dozens of kamikaze drones. Ukrainian air defence destroyed 44 enemy targets, including 29 missiles and 15 Shahed-131/136 attack UAVs. President Volodymyr Zelensky reported on his Telegram that at least three civilians were killed in the attack.
"In Mykolaiv, dozens of residential buildings were destroyed, resulting in one fatality. In Kyiv, over ten people were injured, with two reported fatalities so far. There may be people trapped under the rubble. Some utilities, including high-voltage cables, were damaged in the capital. Efforts are underway to restore everything as quickly as possible. Two people were injured in the Kharkiv region, with one person rescued. Rescue teams are active in the Lviv region," the President of Ukraine stated.
In the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, a multi-story building caught fire as a result of the attack, reportedly affecting floors 10 through 15. Additionally, vehicles and auto repair shops were engulfed in flames, and power lines were damaged. Besides the two fatalities, there are reports of 11 injured individuals.
In the city of Mykolaiv, a regional centre in southern Ukraine, private residential houses suffered significant damage, leaving them roofless and windowless, with some walls substantially compromised. Gas and water pipelines in the city were also damaged.
Apart from one fatality, 11 people were injured as a result of the occupiers' missile attack. There were also reports of hits in the Lviv region during the morning strike — Russian forces targeted an industrial facility in Drohobych. Partial building collapse and a fire covering an area of 300 square meters were recorded. No information on casualties has been received.
During the attack, one of the Russian missiles was heading towards the Polish border through the Lviv region. Due to the threat, Poland activated its airspace protection protocol and deployed aircraft. The Polish defence department noted that all necessary procedures had been activated to ensure the safety of Polish airspace and that they were monitoring the situation.
