Second Round of the UEFA Champions League Kicks Off
The second general stage of the UEFA Champions League begins today, with the matches of the most prestigious club football tournament in Europe continuing this week under the new rules.
After losing against Real Madrid in Round 1, Stuttgart will try to take three points against Sparta Prague, last season's Czech champion, which unexpectedly defeated the winner of Dynamo Kyiv, Salzburg Austria, at the start.
Stuttgart looks to be the clear favourite in the match and should confidently defeat their opponent. Previously, Stuttgart and Sparta have never met at the official level. However, in the winter of 2023, the teams played a friendly match, in which the Czechs won 2-0.
Ukrainian champion Shakhtar Donetsk will play their next match tomorrow, on Wednesday, 2 October, against Italian side Atalanta.
The schedule of the second round of the UEFA Champions League matches on 1 October:
Salzburg (Austria) vs Brest (France)
Stuttgart (Germany) vs Sparta (Prague, Czech Republic)
Arsenal (England) - PSG (France)
Bayer Leverkusen (Germany) - AC Milan (Italy)
Barcelona (Spain) - Young Boys (Switzerland)
