Self-Proclaimed Leader of Belarus Repeats Nuclear Blackmail of Allied Russia and Threatens the World with 'Apocalypse'
Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko has described a high risk of military incidents on the border with Ukraine and has suggested a possible "nuclear apocalypse" if Russia uses nuclear weapons in response to a nuclear threat from the West. He made these statements to Russian propaganda media, as reported by The Guardian.
According to the self-proclaimed Belarusian president, conditions for starting peaceful negotiations between Russia and Ukraine have already matured. He believes that previous texts discussed by Russian and Ukrainian officials in Turkey in the first weeks of the war could serve as a starting point for such negotiations.
The Belarusian dictator also stated that neighboring Poland should not expect aggressive actions from Belarus. However, contradicting these words, the self-proclaimed Belarusian leader announced that he had moved several combat-ready battalions from the Vitebsk region, located on the border with Russia, to the western borders of the country.
It's worth noting that The Gaze reported that in early April, the armed forces of Belarus began military exercises near the borders with Ukraine, Lithuania, and Poland. Specifically, from April 2 to April 4, under the leadership of the military commissar of the Gomel region, command and staff exercises were held with the territorial defense forces of the Rogachev and Kormyansky districts "as part of a comprehensive assessment of the territorial defense of the Gomel region," as well as in the Voronov district of the Grodno region.
The purpose of the exercises is to assess the readiness of military unit officials of territorial troops to perform training and combat tasks, improve the skills of reserve officers in leading subordinates, and prepare personnel to fulfill duties during the resolution of territorial defense tasks.
