Sky News: Ukraine's Allies Consider Easing Sanctions on Russia if Truce Is Agreed

Ukraine's allies are assessing the potential for easing sanctions against Russia in the event of a ceasefire in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to Sky News.
Sources close to the EU Council claim that Ukraine's allies are assessing the possibility of gradually easing sanctions against Russia if a full ceasefire is reached.
According to them, the sanctions are planned to be reinstated in the event of any violations.
They hope that a 15-day ceasefire will be reached immediately (the sanctions will remain in force during this period) before a ‘more structured pause in hostilities’ begins in Ukraine.
Separately, interlocutors in the Italian government told the broadcaster that they would insist during a video conference on 13 August that US President Donald Trump involve Europe in his negotiations with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin on Ukraine.
‘He is asking European countries to increase military spending, so we have to participate in these decisions,’ the Italian diplomat explained.
The interlocutors added that during the conversation, Italy will emphasise the need for clear military, economic and political guarantees for Ukraine.
As The Gaze reported earlier, US President Donald Trump said that during his meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska, he would not sign an agreement to end the war in Ukraine.
