Slovakia Closes Its Consulate General in Russia
The Slovak government has decided to close the Consulate General of the Slovak Republic in the Russian city of St Petersburg at the end of this year.
This is stated on the website of the Slovak diplomatic mission, Ukrinform reports.
Accordingly, the activities of the Consulate General of Slovakia in St. Petersburg will be terminated on 31 December 2024. From the beginning of next year, the office will no longer provide its services to Russian citizens. At the same time, it is noted that Russian citizens can continue to apply for visas, residence permits or signature verification, translations and certification of photocopies and copies of documents at the Slovak Embassy in Moscow.
Earlier, in October, Poland closed the Russian Consulate General in Poznan, revoking its permit, due to the preparation of sabotage by Russians, both in Poland and in other European countries.
