Trump Blames Democrats After Ukrainian Refugee Killed in North Carolina

U.S. President Donald Trump has seized on the killing of a Ukrainian refugee in Charlotte, North Carolina, to launch a fierce attack on the Democratic Party.
The Gaze reports this, referring to European Pravda, citing Trump’s post on social media.
Writing on Truth Social, Trump described the victim as “a beautiful young Ukrainian refugee” who had fled the war in her country only to be “brutally ambushed by a mentally unstable criminal” while riding the city’s metro.
He said the suspect was a repeat offender who had been arrested numerous times but released without bail, and argued that such cases proved Democrats were failing to ensure public safety.
“The perpetrator was a well known career criminal, who had been previously arrested and released on CASHLESS BAIL in January, a total of 14 TIMES. What the hell was he doing riding the train, and walking the streets? Criminals like this need to be LOCKED UP,” Trump wrote.
He added that the victim’s blood was “on the hands of the Democrats who refuse to jail dangerous people.” Trump singled out former North Carolina governor Roy Cooper, calling him a “disgraced” politician and a “wannabe senator.”
U.S. President also expressed outrage that the murder had not received broader coverage in mainstream U.S. media, while urging voters to back Republican candidate Michael Whatley in North Carolina’s Senate race.
The victim, identified as 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska, had sought refuge in the United States from Russia’s war on Ukraine.
She was fatally stabbed on August 22 while traveling on a train in Charlotte and later died from multiple knife wounds.
Police identified the suspect as 34-year-old Decarlos Brown, a homeless man with a record of arrests dating back to 2011 on charges including theft, armed robbery, and making threats.
