Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Kyiv is prepared to share intelligence with Poland and assist in strengthening its air-defense and warning systems after Russian attack drones entered Polish airspace overnight.

The Gaze reports this, referring to Zelenskyy’s post on social media.

Zelenskyy confirmed that at least eight Shahed drones launched by Russia were directed toward Poland, calling it a deliberate and dangerous escalation.

“As of now, it’s known about 8 drones. Increasing evidence indicates that this movement, this direction of strike, was no accident. There have been previous incidents of individual Russian drones crossing the border and traveling a short distance into neighboring countries. But this time, we are recording a much larger scale and deliberate targeting,” he wrote.

Zelenskyy emphasized that Russia’s actions endanger the sovereignty of all neighboring states, and stressed that only collective, well-coordinated measures can provide lasting security in the region.

“Ukraine is ready to provide Poland with all the necessary data available regarding this Russian strike. Ukraine is also ready to help Poland build an effective system of warning and protection against such Russian threats,” he added.

In addition, Zelenskyy reiterated Ukraine’s long-standing proposal to build a joint European air-defense network that would ensure the interception of drones and missiles through combined aviation and anti-missile systems.

The president emphasized the need for a strong, united response from partners, warning that Moscow must feel the consequences of its actions.

He also urged the European Union and allies to end what he called an “overlong sanctions pause,” arguing that delays in tightening restrictions only embolden Russia and its partners.

According to Polish media TVP, debris from one of the downed drones struck a residential house in the town of Wyrki in Lublin Voivodeship’s Włodawa County, damaging the roof and a nearby car (see photo above).

Local authorities confirmed that no one was injured. Mariusz Zańko, head of Włodawa County, said residents reported hearing an explosion and saw Polish fighter jets in the sky. Officials are assessing the damage and have urged citizens to remain cautious in the aftermath of the incident.

As The Gaze reported earlier, Poland confirmed on Wednesday that it had shot down Russian drones which crossed its border during Moscow’s overnight assault on Ukraine – the first such incident of direct defensive action against aerial targets inside Polish territory.

According to Ukrainian authorities, Russia launched around 415 drones and more than 40 cruise and ballistic missiles against Ukraine in the overnight assault, targeting 15 regions. Ukrainian air defenses destroyed 386 drones and 27 missiles.
