Trump Claims He Could Arrive in Istanbul Tomorrow

US President Donald Trump says he is ready to arrive in Istanbul on Friday for talks on the Russia-Ukraine war.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to Trump's statement in the Qatari capital Doha before leaving the country as part of his Middle East tour.
Amid speculation about the US president's participation in the talks between Ukraine and Russia in Istanbul, Trump made it clear that he could come there.
"If something happens, I'll go on Friday (to Istanbul) if it's appropriate," Trump said.
The US president also noted that, in his opinion, Putin was not going to go to Istanbul if Trump was not there. "That turned out to be true," the US president said.
As The Gaze reported earlier, on 14 May, Russian leader Vladimir Putin approved the list of Russian representatives to participate in talks with Ukraine in Istanbul on 15 May, which he did not join.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is due to meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara on Thursday. Earlier, Zelenskyy said he was ready to come to Istanbul if Putin arrived there.
