Trump Considers New Financial Aid for Ukraine, Sources Say
US President Donald Trump is considering allocating new funds to Ukraine for the first time since taking office in January.

Informed sources in American diplomatic circles have reported that the new funding may be intended to send a signal to Russia, which has recently launched strikes against Ukraine using drones and missiles.
The source of the possible new funding for Ukraine remains unclear. However, US officials said Trump has $3.85 billion left over from former US President Joe Biden's authority to reduce military spending, which could be used to send American military equipment to Ukraine.
Another possible way to finance military aid to Kyiv could be the confiscation of about $5 billion in Russian assets, which would allow the president to exercise his powers, but neither Trump nor Biden has taken advantage of this mechanism.
Trump recently expressed doubt for the first time that Russian President Vladimir Putin ‘wants peace’ and said that Putin talks ‘a lot of nonsense.’
