Trump Hides behind Bulletproof Glass at Public Appearances
On 21 August, former US President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump held his first open-air rally in North Carolina since the assassination attempt in Pennsylvania. This time, he was protected by bulletproof glass panels in front and behind.
This was reported by the Associated Press.
Trump was speaking at an event dedicated to national security. During his speech, containers were stacked around the perimeter of his podium to form additional ‘walls’, snipers were stationed on the roofs, and old aircraft were parked behind the podium.
This speech is part of a week-long series of Trump's counterprogrammes against the Democratic National Convention, which is taking place in Chicago.
As The Gaze previously reported, on 13 July in the evening during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, former US President Donald Trump was shot at. He was lightly wounded in the ear. The Federal Bureau of Investigation said it was an attempt on his life.
According to the Secret Service, the attacker and at least one of the attendees were killed, and two other attendees were seriously injured.
