Turkish Olympic Pistol Champion to Patent His "Signature" Pose

Turkish Olympic pistol shooter Yusuf Dikeç has applied for a patent on his serene shooting position for the 2024 Paris Olympics, which has gone viral and led to memes and copying around the world. This was announced by his coach, Hürriyet Daily News reports.

The coach of the Olympic champion Erdinç Bilgili said that the step to protect the commercial use of the pose was taken by the athlete in response to attempts by others to register it without Dikeç's consent.

‘After receiving information about numerous trademark registration initiatives carried out without Yusuf Dikeç's knowledge, we filed an application about a week ago... Other applications were rejected,’ the coach said.

The Turkish athlete's relaxed and relaxed pose with his hand in his pocket while shooting has become a popular meme and an object of imitation. It was repeated by Elon Musk, Chelsea striker Nicholas Jackson and other celebrities. 

Earlier, athletes from Turkey, Yusuf Dikeç and Shevval Tarhan, won silver medals at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris in the 10-metre air pistol mixed team event.
