Two Germans Decorate 555 Christmas Trees at Home and Set World Record

A German couple from the city of Rinteln, Susanne and Thomas Jeromin, have set up and decorated 555 Christmas trees at home. The German family has set a world record in this way, according to the German Institute of Records (RID).
Among the decorated trees are themed ones, including those dedicated to the Star Wars film, football, and the characters from the Despicable Me cartoon - minions.
According to Suzanne, her husband has a hobby of buying Christmas decorations.
"At some point, Thomas showed an enthusiasm for decorating - he started buying more and more Christmas decorations and still can't stop. It took me a while to get used to his hobby, but now I really like it," the woman said.
It is noted that since 2017, the couple has set five world records in a row. In 2021, they decorated 444 Christmas trees.
This year, on 30 November, the couple received their sixth certificate from the Institute of Records.
"This will be the end, because our possibilities are exhausted. I also really like the number 555 because it's easy to remember," said Thomas Jeromin.
Reference: The German Institute of Records (RID) is the German-language equivalent of the Guinness World Records. The RID collects and verifies the best performances from the German-speaking region and certifies world records and publishes them in its own RID Book of Records.
A year ago, an American man decorated his beard with 710 Christmas tree balls and entered the Guinness Book of Records.
Joel Strasser, a resident of the American city of Kuna (Idaho), likes to decorate his lush beard with various objects. The persistent bearded man has several such achievements to his credit. All of them are listed in the Guinness World Records. On the eve of Christmas, the American set a new record by placing 710 colourful Christmas tree ornaments (balls) on his beard.
Joel Strasser has been perfecting his beard decoration technique for years. He hung toothpicks, clothes pegs, straws, sugar stirring sticks, etc. on his beard. In 2019, the American first came up with the idea of decorating his beard with Christmas balls. At that time, he placed 302 glass ornaments on his beard, 542 a year later, and 686 balls in 2021.
"At first, I was haphazardly hanging Christmas balls on my beard, so my first records were not that impressive. Later on, I discovered that by focusing on individual small strands of my beard, I could place a lot more decorations on it," Joel Strasser told in an interview.
