Ukraine Again Suffered Massive Russian Missile and Drone Attacks Targeting Energy Infrastructure
Since the night of 28 November, Ukraine has been subjected to another massive terrorist missile attack by Russia on energy facilities in many cities using several types of missiles.
This was reported by the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Ukrinform, Suspilne.
As of 7:30 a.m., about 25 cruise missiles were spotted flying over Ukraine in groups from different directions towards Cherkasy and Chernihiv regions and in the direction of Kryvyi Rih and Odesa region. Vinnytsia, Poltava, Kyiv, Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Kirovohrad regions were also under threat.
Later, monitoring channels and the Air Force warned of a threat to Kyiv: missiles were coming from different directions to the capital near Boryspil, in the west near Makariv and in the area of Vasylkiv.
Around 08:00, it became known that groups of missiles were heading west towards Zhytomyr, Khmelnytsky and Vinnytsia regions, as well as towards Ternopil region. Explosions were heard in a number of regions.
In this regard, emergency power cuts were introduced in Ukraine. Following the Russian attack, Kherson and Zhytomyr lost power.
In Vinnytsia region, a missile attack damaged residential buildings and injured a woman.
Air defence systems were deployed in Kyiv, and debris was seen falling in the city. A combined missile and drone strike by the Russian army damaged an enterprise and destroyed all enemy targets threatening the capital.
In the morning of Thursday, 28 November, 280 000 consumers in the Rivne region were left without electricity as a result of a Russian missile attack, and there are water outages.
In the Lviv region, Russian troops attacked the energy infrastructure, leaving 523,000 customers without electricity.
In the Khmelnytsky region, a massive Russian strike resulted in a partial power outage in Shepetivka and Khmelnytsky districts.
Kirovohrad region was attacked by enemy missiles and drones. A fire is being extinguished at the site of the explosions.
In Shostka, Sumy region, a school, hospital, water supply facilities and residential buildings were damaged by an enemy missile attack, and infrastructure facilities were destroyed.
The shelling of Odesa district on 28 November damaged six residential buildings and injured one person.
Due to the massive shelling, there are sporadic power outages on the railway, with six trains delayed for more than an hour. However, the majority of trains, more than 150, are running on schedule, Ukrzaliznytsia reported.
Ukraine's Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko reported massive Russian attacks on the country's energy infrastructure.
According to Herman Galushchenko, the consequences of the attacks are currently being clarified and will be made public only after the security situation improves.
‘Once again, the energy sector is under massive attack. Attacks on energy facilities are taking place all over Ukraine,’ the minister said in his statement.
Three explosions also occurred in Kharkiv, according to Mayor Igor Terekhov. Earlier, Russia fired a missile at Kharkiv. ‘One of the largest residential areas of the city was hit.’
At least four explosions were heard in Odesa. The Air Force warned that the Russian army had launched Kalibr cruise missiles from the Black Sea and that some of them were heading towards Odesa region.
