Ukraine and the USA are Working on Joint Weapons Production
Ukraine and the USA collaborate in the production of weapons to enhance global security. Specific agreements have already been reached.
This was announced by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, during his regular evening address.
"During my visit to Washington, President Biden and I reached specific agreements on things we can do together. This will undoubtedly strengthen both Americans and Ukrainians, as well as our partners. Joint production always strengthens," Zelensky emphasized.
In addition, the president announced the holding of a joint conference on the defense industry of Ukraine and the USA. According to Zelensky, the event will involve representatives of the Ukrainian and American businesses, government officials, and activists – everyone involved in organizing the defense of Ukraine.
In turn, the White House revealed certain details of the upcoming conference, stating that the event will take place on December 6-7 in Washington and will be called DFNC1: US Edition.
"This conference follows the International Defense Industries Forum hosted by Ukraine on September 29 and reinforces the U.S.’s long-term commitments to the U.S. defense industrial base, to Ukraine’s economic recovery, and the joint commitment to enhance industrial, armaments, and security cooperation between both nations," said the spokesperson for the White House National Security Council.
It is worth noting that late September Kyiv hosted the Forum of Defense Industries, during which Zelensky announced the creation of the "Alliance of Defense Industries."
According to President Zelensky, Ukraine has developed a "basic declaration as the basis of the Alliance," to which weapons and military equipment manufacturers from around the world can join.
"Today, at the start, 13 prominent companies have already signed this declaration, ready to build a new arsenal of the free world together with Ukraine," emphasized the president.
It is worth mentioning that, according to the Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kamyshin, since spring 2023, the number of Ukrainian companies producing weapons has increased at least fourfold, and the budget for the purchase of Ukrainian production this year will approach the one billion dollar mark.
