Ukraine is ready to purchase American weapons and is having active negotiations with the United States on this matter.
This was announced by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Heorhii Tykhiy, during a briefing on June 10, The Gaze reports referring to Ukrinform correspondent.
"Ukraine is engaged in active dialogue with the United States regarding the purchase of American weapons, including Patriot air defense systems and other equipment that the U.S. possesses," Tykhiy said.
He thanked the U.S. for all the aid provided, noting that it had indeed been "significant and substantial," and stated that Ukraine is ready to purchase American weapons from various funding sources, including a fund created under the Agreement on Mineral Resources.
The foreign ministry spokesperson also informed that military assistance from the U.S. continues to arrive, and assured that Ukrainian diplomacy is doing everything to ensure it continues.
"I am confident that we will manage to find solutions that will allow us to receive the necessary American weapons and equipment, licenses if needed, and other items," he noted.
