Ukraine Ready to Buy $30–50 Billion Worth of Weapons from US

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says that Ukraine has conveyed its requests for a military aid package to the United States, which it is ready to buy.
The Gaze reports this with reference to Zelenskyy's statement during a conversation with journalists on 9 April.
According to the Interfax-Ukraine news agency, the head of state said that official Kyiv had handed over to the US side ‘a large package that we want to buy in one form or another’.
"This is our format, how we will pay for it. And we did not ask for the future package for free. We are counting on it even as a guarantee of security," Zelenskyy said.
He clarified that Kyiv's wishes in the package included air defence and ‘other relevant tools that we really need’. Among other things, the US requested at least ten air defence systems.
"This is protection, it will help us after the war is over, it is a guarantee of security, that Ukraine is covered by air defence. There are many different formats and tools that we are ready for. We were ready to find both 30 and 50 billion for the appropriate package," Zelenskyy concluded.
Donald Trump's administration has not provided military aid to Ukraine since coming to power, but weapons continue to arrive as part of the packages announced by the previous administration.
Trump has previously assured that the US will continue to send weapons to Ukraine, but expressed hope that a ceasefire could be achieved quickly.
As The Gaze reported earlier, on 28 March, Ukraine received an official draft proposal for the US-Ukraine minerals agreement from the US government.
The new proposal reinstates Trump's original demand that Ukraine repay the US for the billions in military and financial aid it has received since Russia's full-scale invasion.
