Ukraine Successfully Completes EU Screening on Entrepreneurship and Industrial Policy

Ukraine has successfully passed the European Union's official screening process for compliance with EU standards in the area of "Entrepreneurship and Industrial Policy" as part of the ongoing negotiations for EU membership.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.
The screening took place in Brussels on April 28-29, with key presentations from Ukrainian officials, including Deputy Minister of Economy Andriy Telyupa and Deputy Minister Tetyana Berezhna. Representatives from several Ukrainian ministries, including Education, Science, and Strategic Industries, also participated in the session.
The Ministry presented several key initiatives aimed at supporting businesses and industrial development, such as the "Affordable Loans 5-7-9%" program, grants for establishing and developing processing enterprises, solutions for modernizing production, and the introduction of Smart Specialisation in regions. The European Commission positively assessed the systematic approach of Ukraine's initiatives, recognizing the tangible results of current programs and the country's progress in adapting its policies to EU standards.
The Ukrainian delegation highlighted progress in seven key areas: the development of industrial policy (including ecosystem modernization, Smart Specialisation implementation, and green transformation of production), support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through participation in the EU Single Market Program, the development of clusters, support for light industry enterprises during wartime, corporate sustainability and business responsibility, deregulation and digitalization, and the development of social economy sectors and the recovery of the steel industry.
The European Commission praised the high level of preparedness displayed by the Ukrainian delegation and highlighted the need for faster implementation of the EU’s Late Payment Directive.
"This positive outcome of the screening process is a significant step forward in Ukraine's negotiations for EU membership," emphasized Deputy Minister of Economy Andriy Teliupa.
Earlier in March, Ukraine held its first bilateral meeting with the European Commission regarding the alignment of Ukrainian legislation with EU law under Cluster 3, which covers "Competitiveness and Inclusive Development."
This success further solidifies Ukraine’s position on its path to full EU membership. The government remains committed to advancing reforms and integrating European practices across various sectors.
As The Gaze reported earlier, the process of screening the compliance of Ukrainian legislation with the European one as part of the negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU has reached the halfway point in March.
