Russia carried out a large-scale combined missile and drone attack against Ukraine overnight, striking energy facilities and residential areas across multiple regions, including Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kyiv, and western Ukraine.

The Gaze reports this, referring to Ukrainian officials.

Russia launched Kinzhal hypersonic and other ballistic missiles, Kh-101 cruise missiles, and Shahed explosive drones in one of the most extensive nighttime barrages of the month.

Zaporizhzhia suffered some of the heaviest damage. Local officials said at least 13 people were injured, including six children aged between three and six, when Russian missiles and drones struck residential areas and a dormitory, destroying several floors of the building.

Search-and-rescue operations continued Thursday morning, with one person believed to be trapped under the rubble.

Mayor Ivan Fedorov reported that at least 20 drones and eight missiles targeted the city and its surrounding district overnight. Several fires broke out in housing areas and infrastructure sites.

In the capital, air defense systems repelled waves of Shahed drones, preventing significant damage. In nearby Boryspil, falling debris ignited a private home and several cars, injuring a 36-year-old woman who was hospitalized with burns and cuts.

The Dnipropetrovsk region also came under attack, with air defenses shooting down 22 drones. One missile struck an industrial site in Dnipro, though no casualties were reported.

In surrounding districts, drones hit several communities, damaging private homes and local infrastructure.

Russian FPV drones and artillery shelled the Nikopol area, but no injuries occurred.

In western Ukraine, Ivano-Frankivsk was hit by cruise missiles targeting energy facilities. The city experienced temporary blackouts following the explosions, Mayor Ruslan Martsinkiv confirmed.

In Vinnytsia region, the city of Ladyzhyn lost heat and water after an energy facility was hit. Authorities began deploying alternative heating and water-supply systems and suspended kindergarten operations for the day.

Ukraine’s national grid operator Ukrenergo announced emergency power outages across most regions following strikes on energy infrastructure. Repair crews will begin restoration work “as soon as the security situation allows,” Ukrenergo said.

As The Gaze previously reported, on October 29, Russian troops launched an attack on a hospital in Kherson, resulting in casualties among children and medical staff.
