Ukraine Wants US Clarification on Military Aid Halt

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine stated that it had not received any official notifications about the suspension or revision of defence aid delivery schedules from the United States and requested a telephone conversation with its US counterparts.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Defence.
‘The Ukrainian side has taken note of reports of delays in the delivery of certain elements of previously allocated defence aid packages from the United States and is clarifying the current factual circumstances of the deliveries,’ the statement said.
The defence ministry said that Ukraine had not received any official notifications about the suspension or revision of the delivery schedules for the agreed defence aid, so it is proceeding on the basis of the actual data and checking the details of each item in the delivery.
‘The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has requested a telephone conversation with its US counterparts for further clarification of the details,’ the Ministry of Defence said.
The results of contacts with American partners will be reported additionally at the level of the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Ministry of Defence also noted that it is critically important for Ukraine to maintain stability, continuity and predictability in the provision of agreed defence assistance, primarily in the area of strengthening air defence systems, and expressed gratitude to the United States for its support.
At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine summoned John Ginkel, Chargé d'Affaires of the United States in Ukraine, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The key topic of the conversation with him was US military assistance and defence cooperation between the two countries against the backdrop of Russia's escalation of aggression and terror against Ukraine.
During the meeting, Ukraine emphasised that ‘any delay or procrastination in supporting Ukraine's defence capabilities will only encourage the aggressor to continue the war and terror, rather than seek peace.’
As The Gaze reported earlier, the United States has halted shipments of certain air defence missiles and precision-guided munitions to Ukraine due to growing concerns about the depletion of its own weapons stockpiles.
