Ukraine’s Independent Regional Publishers Awarded Top Honors at INMA Global Media Awards 2025

The Association of Independent Regional Publishers of Ukraine (AIRPU) has been distinguished with the highest accolade, the Grand Prix Best in Show, at the prestigious INMA Global Media Awards 2025. Additionally, the association received top recognition in four separate categories, underscoring its excellence in media innovation.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to the Association of Independent Regional Publishers of Ukraine.
The awards ceremony was held at the Edison Ballroom in New York City, where the INMA celebrated 40 first-place winners across 20 categories that spotlight cutting-edge developments in the media industry, from subscription strategies and advertising innovations to artificial intelligence applications and editorial transformation.
AIRPU was honored for its powerful campaign, “Rescuing Freedom: The Campaign to Save Ukrainian Regional Journalism,” which earned accolades in four categories, including the distinguished titles of “Best European Project” and “Best Global Project.”
Oksana Brovko, Director of AIRPU, reflected on the significance of the achievement: “This victory is a profound symbol of international recognition for the indispensable role that independent regional journalism plays amid the ongoing war. After 11 years of conflict in Ukraine, we have learned that solidarity is far more than a word – it is a vital lifeline.”
She further emphasized that the award serves not only as a triumph but also as a powerful affirmation of the importance of Ukrainian independent media and the global solidarity among journalistic communities.
Established in 1937, the INMA Global Media Awards honor media organizations worldwide for their outstanding contributions to advancing journalism and transforming the media landscape.
As The Gaze reported earlier, Ukrainian writer, artist and translator Daryna Gladun has won the Billy Maich Prize from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, USA.
