Ukrainian Students Triumph at GENIUS Olympiad in the U.S., Winning 17 Awards

Ukrainian high school students have earned 17 awards at the globally renowned GENIUS Olympiad – an international competition celebrating youth-driven projects in environmental science, art, and innovation.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian team showcased exceptional talent and creativity, securing one Grand Prize, three gold medals, five silver, four bronze, and four honorable mentions.
All participants were students of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (JASU).
This year’s Olympiad brought together over 1,260 finalists from more than 70 countries, making it one of the most competitive editions to date.
The Ukrainian delegation, comprising 34 students from 11 regions of the country, presented 29 projects in categories such as science, robotics, short film, music, and public speaking.
The GENIUS Olympiad, hosted annually in New York, is one of the world’s leading platforms for youth-driven ecological and scientific innovation.
Since its inception, the competition has featured more than 18,000 projects by students committed to sustainability and global impact.
Ukraine’s consistent success at the Olympiad, this being the third Grand Prize victory for the country, underscores the strength of its educational system and the resilience of its students, even in the face of ongoing national challenges.
“Each year, the share of Ukrainian winners at the GENIUS Olympiad grows. Our students continue to demonstrate excellence and inspire the world with their ideas,” said Yevhen Kudriavets, First Deputy Minister of Education and Science. “We are proud of their achievements and remain committed to developing more opportunities for out-of-school education in Ukraine.”
The students were warmly welcomed home at Kyiv’s Central Railway Station with a celebratory event organized by Ukrainian Railways, featuring the symbolic arrival of the “GENIUS Express.”
