The Ukrainian national team entered the top three strongest teams in the world according to the results of the last day of competition at the XII World Games 2025 in Chengdu, China, demonstrating a high level of skill and athletic potential.

The Gaze reports on it, referring to Suspilne Sport and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

For the second time in a row, the Ukrainian team took third place in the overall team standings of these comprehensive competitions in sports not included in the Olympic program. This happened for the first time in 2022 at the competitions in Birmingham (USA).

As a result of these competitions, Ukraine won four medals at the World Games, all in powerlifting. In the men's heavyweight triathlon, Kostyantyn Musienko won the gold medal. Daria Rusanenko and Volodymyr Rusiev won two silver medals, and Oleksii Bychkov won the bronze.

Upon the conclusion of the championship, Ukraine has won 44 medals, including 16 gold medals, in 11 sports:

  • underwater sports (finswimming) — 11 medals (2 gold, 4 silver, 5 bronze);

  • powerlifting — 10 medals (2 gold, 5 silver, 3 bronze);

  • sambo — 6 medals (4 gold, 2 silver);

  • dragon boat racing — 4 medals (2 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze);

  • WAKO kickboxing — 4 medals (2 gold, 2 bronze);
