U.S. Approves $300 Million Sale of Patriot Support, Satellite Systems to Ukraine

The U.S. State Department has cleared potential defense sales to Ukraine worth more than $329 million, including satellite communication services for Starlink terminals and support equipment for Patriot air defense systems.
The Gaze reports this, referring to the U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA).
The first package, valued at $150 million, covers satellite communication services and related equipment.
The request, initiated by the Ukrainian government, aims to ensure the continued operation of Ukraine’s Starlink terminals.
The deal includes engineering, technical and logistical support provided by the U.S. government and contractors. Implementation will not require additional American personnel in Ukraine.
A second package, estimated at $179.1 million, involves equipment and services to sustain Ukraine’s Patriot missile defense systems.
The contract encompasses spare parts, classified and unclassified software updates, testing and communications gear, integration services, field support programs, and training.
The program will require around five U.S. government officials and 15 contractors to work with U.S. European Command on training and periodic consultations.
The DSCA emphasized that both sales align with U.S. foreign policy and national security objectives by bolstering the resilience of a partner nation facing ongoing Russian aggression.
“These measures will enhance Ukraine’s ability to counter current and future threats, enabling its armed forces to conduct defense and regional security missions more effectively,” the agency said in a statement.
As The Gaze previously reported, the U.S. State Department also gave the green light for a possible $825 million sale of precision-guided missiles and associated equipment to Ukraine.
