US, Europe, Ukraine Can Push Putin to Ceasefire, Says Ambassador Taylor

William Taylor, US Ambassador to Ukraine in 2006-2009, believes that President Donald Trump, Europe and ‘a strong Ukraine’ have the ability to push Russian President Vladimir Putin towards a ceasefire and peace. Taylor said this in the interview with UATV.
The ambassador is pretty sure Putin doesn’t want peace in Ukraine, instead he wants to dominate Ukraine, to absorb and eliminate it.
‘Nonetheless, I think President Trump and the Europeans and a strong Ukraine have the ability to push President Putin towards a ceasefire and then later towards a settlement of this,’ he emphasised.
Taylor thinks the new US Administration is making a real attempt to end the war that Russia started.
“I believe Donald Trump and his administration really want to end the war. But only if Ukraine emerges as an independent and European country… This is a more active attempt by this Administration, the Trump Administration, than the previous Administration,” – Mr. William Taylor said.
The Ambassador believes that Trump must support Ukraine until it wins, and eventually agree to its NATO membership.
As The Gaze reported, at talks in Saudi Arabia on 23-25 March, the United States agreed with Ukraine and Russia on a truce in the Black Sea and a ban on strikes on energy infrastructure in both countries. But in reality, the deal isn’t working so far.
