US President Announces New $225 Million Aid Package for Ukraine
US President Joe Biden announced that the United States will provide Ukraine with a new military aid package worth $225 million. The American leader made this announcement during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in France, according to a CNN correspondent.
During the meeting, President Biden apologised for the several-month delay in American military assistance while assuring Volodymyr Zelensky that the United States would continue to support Ukraine.
"We are still with you. Fully. Completely," stated the President of the United States.
The new American aid package for Ukraine will include missiles for air defence systems, Stinger anti-aircraft missiles, Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems, 155mm howitzers, armoured vehicles, trailers, patrol boats, construction materials, and a wide range of other spare parts and equipment.
It is worth noting that The Gaze reported that the United States will also participate in the Global Peace Summit, which will be held in Switzerland in mid-June. This was announced by White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. However, she did not specify who would represent the key ally of Ukraine or if it would be President Joe Biden.
"We have been actively involved in each of the previous Ukrainian peace summits. The US government is participating. And we will be represented at this upcoming summit," stated the White House Press Secretary.
Later, it became known that US Vice President Kamala Harris is likely to represent the United States at the Global Peace Summit.
