US-Ukraine Reconstruction and Investment Fund to Reach $200 Million by 2026

The US-Ukraine Reconstruction and Investment Fund will reach approximately $200 million by the end of 2026, being an important step in supporting Ukraine's economic development.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to Economic Pravda, citing Ukrinform.
According to Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture Oleksiy Sobolev, the Fund will be formed gradually, and its investments will be spread out over time. In addition to this amount, the fund's projects may receive hundreds of millions of dollars in co-financing from other participants.
Sobolev stressed that the fund will contribute to Ukraine's economic development, although it is still difficult to accurately assess its economic impact.
“This will have a corresponding impact on GDP, but it is too early to give estimates. We will see in a few years,” he said.
The increased interest of the US in the Fund was a result of the September visit of the American delegation and the implementation of the subsoil agreement, which demonstrates the seriousness of the intentions of American partners.
The Minister also noted that the initially expected US contribution to the fund had increased from $25 million to $75 million.
“They saw that the projects really exist, business in Ukraine is working, there really are minerals here and companies that know how to extract and process them,” Sobolev stated.
As The Gaze reported earlier, the American side visited several regions of Ukraine and held meetings with enterprises to identify promising projects for investment and support the development of Ukrainian business and the extractive industry.
