Washington to Host Major Summit to Strengthen U.S. Congress Support for Ukraine
This week, the Ukrainian Action Summit will kick off in Washington, bringing together more than 700 delegates from all U.S. states to coordinate support for Ukraine and hold meetings with members of Congress.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to Ukrinform.
The Ukrainian Action Summit, organized by the American Coalition for Ukraine (ACU), will be the largest gathering of Ukrainian and American organizations working together on Ukraine's security, justice, and recovery.
The summit will feature a large-scale conference with eight panels covering security and technology, veteran participation in reconstruction, the return of abducted children, cultural diplomacy, communication with donors and communities, and support for Ukrainian refugees.
“We strive not only to talk about Ukraine, but also to show how joint actions shape the future after victory,” said Marianna Tretyak, Chair of the ACU Board of Directors.
Delegates will undergo special advocacy training and meet with congressmen and senators over two days to convey key priorities: the use of frozen Russian assets for Ukraine's defense and recovery, strengthening sanctions against Russia, returning abducted children, creating long-term security guarantees, and developing economic partnerships.
The ACU brings together leading Ukrainian and American organizations such as Razom for Ukraine, the Ukrainian American Women's Association, the Ukrainian American Coordinating Council, Nova Ukraine, and United Help Ukraine.
“Each organization in the Coalition represents a specific cultural, geographic, professional, or age group of the diaspora. By working together toward a greater goal, we can be of maximum benefit to Ukraine and better inform the American public about the real situation in Ukraine,” said Dr. Markov, Vice Chair of the ACU Board of Directors.
The Coalition demonstrates the unity of the Ukrainian diaspora in the United States and actively engages even those participants who are not of Ukrainian descent in discussions on support for Ukraine in order to convey the real situation in Ukraine and promote the formation of support policies at the Congressional level.
As The Gaze informed earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with a bipartisan delegation from the US Congress to discuss military, financial, and humanitarian support for Ukraine in its war against Russia.
