World and Olympic Champion Yaroslava Mahuchikh Wins Continental Gold in High Jump in Slovakia

Ukrainian high jumper, Olympic champion and world record holder Yaroslava Mahuchikh won gold at the Continental Tour indoor stage in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia, reports Suspilne Sport.

Mahuchikh won the athletics competition with the best result of the season in the world - 2.01 metres.

The Ukrainian's rivals in Slovakia were titled athletes, including Australian 2022 world champion and 2024 Olympic bronze medallist Eleanor Patterson. Angelina Topic, a two-time medallist at the European Championships and a Diamond League finalist, Britt Weerman, a silver medallist at Euro 2023 Indoor, and Lilianna Bathory, a U18 European champion, also competed.

The Ukrainian won her second consecutive award since the beginning of the season - at the Udin Jump Development tournament in Udin, Italy, she won gold with a mark of 1.94m.
