European Commission Resists Pressure to Amend Ukraine Trade Agreement

Despite demands from five EU countries (Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Romania) to revise the text of the new trade agreement, the European Commission does not intend to make changes to the already agreed document, based on the provisions of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) between Ukraine and the EU.
The Gaze reports on this, referring to European Pravda.
The European Commission does not intend to revise the text of the trade agreement with Ukraine, negotiations on which have already been completed.
“As for the timeframe, I cannot say anything specific at this point. But the vote, the adoption that will take place, will concern precisely the text that has been agreed upon,” said European Commission spokesman Olof Gill.
“As far as I know, it will not be reviewed,” he added.
The European Commission spokesman clarified that this is currently their position.
As The Gaze reported earlier, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Romania expressed their dissatisfaction with the new EU-Ukraine trade agreement based on the DCFTA during the July 14 meeting of the EU Agriculture Council.
