Zelenskyy Briefs Kellogg on Battlefield Gains Ahead of Trump Meeting in New York

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has informed U.S. Special Envoy Keith Kellogg about the progress of Ukraine’s counteroffensive near Pokrovsk and Dobropillia in eastern Ukraine.
The Gaze reports this, referring to Zelenskyy’s post on social media.
The discussion took place in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, where Zelenskyy is holding nearly twenty bilateral meetings with world leaders.
According to the president, he detailed to Kellogg the results of Ukrainian operations, which have seen troops reclaim control of multiple settlements and push Russian forces back across several square kilometers in Donetsk region.
“I briefed him on the situation at the front and the results of the counteroffensive near Dobropillia and Pokrovsk,” Zelenskyy said in a statement.
The president added that he had also raised Ukraine’s proposals for expanded defense cooperation with Washington, including agreements on drones and weapons procurement.
Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi earlier reported that forces had regained 1.3 square kilometers and cleared Russian units from an additional 2.1 square kilometers in the Pokrovsk district, while seven settlements were liberated in the Dobropillia direction.
Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to Kellogg for his support and to Trump “for efforts to end the war and stop the killings.”
The Ukrainian leader is scheduled to meet Trump on Tuesday, with talks expected to focus on U.S. defense assistance and prospects for ending the war.
White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said the talks with Zelenskyy will take place alongside Trump’s meetings with the UN Secretary General, the President of Argentina, and EU leaders.
As The Gaze reported earlier, on September 11, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met in Kyiv with Keith Kellogg, U.S. President Donald Trump’s special envoy for Ukraine, to discuss military cooperation, sanctions policy, and preparations for upcoming international events.
