Zelenskyy May Join Planned Trump-Putin Summit in Alaska

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy may take part in the upcoming summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, scheduled for August 15 in Alaska.
The Gaze reports this, referring to CBS News.
The outlet cited a senior White House official, speaking on condition of anonymity, who said plans for the summit remain fluid, with a possibility that Zelenskyy could be included “in one form or another.”
Media reports also suggest such a deal could formalize Russia’s occupation of territories seized during its full-scale invasion, in exchange for a ceasefire.
On August 8, Trump told reporters at the White House that any peace deal might involve “a certain exchange of territories.”
Zelenskyy responded firmly, saying Ukraine’s territorial integrity is defined in its Constitution and is non-negotiable.
“No one will and cannot retreat from this. Ukrainians will not give their land to the occupier,” he declared, stressing that all of Ukraine’s partners must understand what constitutes a “dignified peace.”
“This war must be ended, and Russia must end it. Russia started it and is dragging it out, ignoring any deadlines, and this is the problem, not something else,” Zelenskyy said.
The Ukrainian leader underscored that Kyiv is ready for genuine decisions that can deliver peace, but warned that any arrangement made without Ukraine’s participation would undermine prospects for a sustainable settlement.
Zelenskyy added that Ukraine is prepared to work “together with President Trump and all partners” to achieve “a real and, most importantly, lasting peace that will not collapse because of Moscow’s wishes.”
