Zelenskyy Says He Had 'Productive Conversation' with Kellogg

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump's special representative Keith Kellogg discussed the Russian-Ukrainian war.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to the president's post on social media.
Zelenskyy met with Trump's special envoy on Ukraine on Monday, 14 July, when he arrived on a visit to Kyiv.
According to the Ukrainian leader, they had a ‘productive conversation.’
"We discussed the path to peace and what we can do together to bring it closer. This includes strengthening air defence for Ukraine, joint production, and joint procurement of defence equipment with Europe. And, of course, sanctions against Russia and those who help it," the Ukrainian president said.
Zelenskyy expressed hope for US leadership against the backdrop of Russian ambitions.
"Thank you, Keith Kellogg, for this visit to Ukraine. I am grateful to President Trump for the important signals of support and positive decisions for both our countries. We appreciate the support of the American people," he concluded.
As later noted by Zelenskyy's official representative, the meeting also discussed the overall situation on the front lines and the needs of Ukrainian soldiers.
Zelenskyy also confirmed Ukraine's readiness to purchase American weapons, primarily air defence systems. The parties discussed joint production of drones, the possibility of direct purchases of Ukrainian drones by the United States, and the potential purchase of weapons in cooperation with European partners.
As The Gaze reported earlier, Keith Kellogg, U.S. President Donald Trump's special envoy for Ukraine, began a week-long visit to the Ukrainian capital on Monday, 14 July.
