Waiting for your flight at the airport terminal, only to find out that the flight has been delayed indefinitely? No worries, if you have a smartphone at hand (and who doesn't these days?), and there's Wi-Fi or LTE in the waiting lounge. We present to you a list of twelve games that will help make the wait more enjoyable. Among these games, you'll find both paid and free options, all of which are worth your attention.

PUBG Mobile

When it comes to smartphone games, it's impossible to start the conversation with anything other than this game. Some claim it's the best mobile game, while others are less categorical, stating that it's the best battle royale game. In any case, the game has twice been recognized as the "Game of the Year" by Google.

Your task is to survive on one of the many available islands, competing with other players. You can either hunt down opponents alone or join a team. In the new version, there's also a thematic mode based on the anime "Dragon Ball."

For owners of less powerful smartphones, we recommend installing the lightweight version of the game - PUBG Mobile Lite.

Minecraft

Yes, it's an old game. But it still hasn't lost its popularity and continues to top many charts. The only downside is that the game is paid. By the way, Minecraft is the best-selling game in history: as of 2021, over 238 million copies were sold across all platforms, and the number of players who launched the game at least once a month reached 172 million.

Minecraft is best described by its slogan - create, explore, and survive! That's exactly what you're invited to do in the vast, endless worlds. The game falls under the "sandbox" genre. In other words, it offers players immense possibilities. You can build – whether it's a small house, a castle, or even an entire city. If building gets tiresome, explore the world, engage in PvP battles, play solo or with friends, solve puzzles, and complete mini-games. There's a multitude of options (especially considering various game modifications).

The most charming aspect of the game is its graphics. Everything is made up of different blocks, as if we've entered the Lego world. If you haven't tried it yet, you definitely should. However, there's one downside - the game is paid. Nevertheless, you can try downloading a free trial version, although it's not available in all countries.

Call of Duty Mobile

The legendary online first-person shooter is now available on mobile platforms. The seventh season is currently ongoing. If you're a fan of online shooters, this is an excellent choice.

The game features a variety of modes, both classic and new - "Team Deathmatch," "Domination," "Kill Confirmed," and, of course, the beloved Battle Royale. You can fight solo or in teams. Additionally, the game introduced clans, where you can join forces with friends, earn unique rewards, and fight side by side.

Admittedly, playing a shooter on a mobile phone isn't as easy, as the absence of a keyboard and mouse can be challenging. Still, many people enjoy it; you just need to get used to the controls.

Roblox

This isn't just a game; it's a whole gaming system. Once you download it, you gain access to a range of free titles across various genres. There are shooters, racing games, puzzles, and sports games. What's even more interesting is that you can not only play but also create your own mini-games using Roblox Studio.

Roblox allows gamers to create and customize their avatars, interact with other players, practice game development, attend events, and much more. Overall, it's an intriguing project.

Genshin Impact

An open-world action RPG for fans of anime aesthetics.

The game features an engaging storyline and numerous activities such as puzzles, dungeon exploration, resource gathering, and more. While journeying through the fantasy world of Teyvat, you'll visit the Seven Kingdoms, recruit allies, and engage in battles against a variety of foes.

It's worth mentioning that the game is visually stunning, but if you're not fond of anime aesthetics, it might not be your cup of tea.

Stardew Valley

And of course, there's the farm. With RPG elements to boot. And pixel graphics that harken back to the days of 8-bit consoles.

At the beginning of the game, your character inherits a dilapidated farm in the fictional valley of Stardew. Like other games in this genre, Stardew Valley doesn't impose any specific tasks on the player but offers a multitude of activities: planting and tending to crops, raising livestock, engaging in crafting, mining ore, and participating in the life of the neighboring town to earn in-game currency for expanding the farm. In essence, it seems like a typical "farm" game.

However, this is one of the most popular "farm" games in the world. It's not for nothing that over 20 million copies of the game have been sold. Yes, sold. And that's the main drawback - the game is paid. What can be said – being a farmer comes at a cost.

FIFA Football

Yes, the very same FIFA, but for mobile devices. The best choice for football enthusiasts.

If you've played any game in the FIFA series, there's no need to explain. If you haven't, in a nutshell, it's one of the best (if not the best) football simulator. To be precise, it's a simulator of the World Cup. Create your dream team from favorite players and try to win the championship. If you love football, this game is for you.

Hearthstone

A collectible card game by Blizzard Entertainment. Right after its release, the game climbed the ranks of top online games for Android. And it's not surprising – a renowned developer, the beloved Warcraft universe, and a rather simple yet intriguing game mechanics.

As usual, the game starts with tutorials, after which you can get a basic set of cards. Naturally, playing with the basic set is only feasible in the beginning, so you'll have to gather new cards to create a stronger deck. To do this, complete quests, use crafting, or... contribute financially.

Hearthstone offers several modes such as "Battlegrounds," "Adventures," "Mercenaries," "Tavern Brawl," and more.

Asphalt 9: Legends

The latest installment of the popular game by Gameloft. A visually stunning game with numerous licensed cars that you can not only admire but also customize. By the way, it includes an autopilot mode, so even those who aren't adept at driving can hope for victory. Professionals, of course, can disable this mode.

Many cars, many tracks, many opponents, excellent graphics. What more could you ask for in a game?

Gorogoa

An engaging puzzle game. The gameplay is simple: you need to arrange 2.5D pictures to assemble a puzzle. It's an excellent brain exercise, and the visuals in the game are incredibly beautiful. Interestingly, the game was created by just one person, who spent over five years working on it. So, it's no surprise that the game is paid. But if you enjoy puzzles and especially jigsaw puzzles, you should definitely give it a try.

Plants vs. Zombies 2

How can we talk about games without mentioning this project? It's a variation of the Tower Defense genre, where a gardener fights against malicious zombies using plants. It's a fantastic game with fun graphics and animations. It's a great way to pass the time while simultaneously giving your brain a workout.

In the second installment of the game, you'll be fighting across twelve diverse worlds, including Ancient Egypt, the distant future, and much more.

RAID: Shadow Legends

A visually stunning online RPG with MMO elements, developed by Plarium. Until the end of February 2022, their office was located in Kharkiv, but due to a large-scale invasion, they had to relocate.

Collect heroes, level them up, form various teams, venture into dungeons, campaigns, battle bosses, or compete on the Arena against teams assembled by other players. Create a clan or join an existing one, communicate in the chat, participate in Clan Tournaments. In short, there's plenty to do in the game.

All of this is complemented by excellent 3D graphics, splendid animations, and beautiful heroes.

Caution: the game can be quite addictive and consume a lot of time – don't miss your flight.
