Angelina Jolie Supports Ukrainian Girl Seriously Injured in Russian Strike

Hollywood star Angelina Jolie has contacted a 14-year-old Ukrainian girl, Polina, who was seriously injured in a Russian strike on Izium in the Kharkiv region on 4 February 2025.
This was reported by the fundraising platform UNITED24.
Polina is currently undergoing treatment at the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital. Her biggest dream is to walk again, and Ukrainian doctors are making efforts to make this possible.
The girl admitted that she would really like to meet Angelina Jolie.
‘We did our best to help make her second dream come true. The American actress talked to Polina online and also sent her a note of support,’ UNITED24 said.
On 4 February, the Russian army struck central Izium with an Iskander ballistic missile, killing five people and injuring 57.
As The Gaze previously reported, on the occasion of World Vyshyvanka Day in 2023, as part of a project to support Ukraine, UNITED24 created exclusive embroidered shirts for platform ambassadors from around the world. For example, the embroidery of Mark Hamill, who plays Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars saga, shows geometric patterns with Jedi lightsabers, as a reference to the franchise.
