The United States has approved the transfer of missiles from Germany to Ukraine. It is about 125 long-range artillery missiles and 100 missiles for Patriot air defence systems. These are 12-barrelled missiles, additional ammunition needed for combat operations, said military observer Denys Popovych.

The Gaze reports on this with reference to the broadcast of the FREEDOM TV channel.

"They will have no strategic impact on the course of the war. That is, they will not turn the war in our direction and will not push the enemy back towards Moscow. But they will certainly bring benefits," the speaker noted.

However, Popovych believes that this is a good political signal. It is related to the fact that the US is not going to stop supplying arms and is ready to continue to help Ukraine in this regard.

"We have heard about the US pressure, about certain actions taken by the US to ensure that Ukraine receives additional air defence systems that have been written off by Israel. And we have heard that the US is trying to put pressure on Greece in this regard. But Greece seems to be not ready to share its systems yet. Those European countries that have these systems (Patriot air defence systems - ed.) are also thinking about security. Especially in the current situation on the continent, when there is very serious talk about the possibility of Russian aggression in the near future. Obviously, every state thinks about its own security. It's hard to blame them for that," Popovych explained.

He also noted that the largest stock of Patriot systems is in the United States. And it is up to the United States to ensure further political will to transfer the systems to Ukraine.

As The Gaze reported earlier, on 17 April, the German government announced that it had sent new military aid to Ukraine in recent days, including air defence equipment, ammunition and drones.
