Ukraine and France Complete €200 Million Grant Agreement with Final Energy Contract Signed

Ukraine and France have officially concluded the implementation of a €200 million intergovernmental grant agreement following the signing of the final project contract between French energy firm GE Vernova and Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to the Ministry of economy of Ukraine.
The €13 million agreement provides for the production and delivery of two mobile substations to strengthen Ukraine’s energy infrastructure and ensure rapid response capabilities in conflict-affected regions.
This contract is the final of 19 projects funded under the grant agreement signed in Paris in June 2024. The comprehensive initiative targets key recovery sectors, including healthcare, energy, water supply, transportation, and demining.
“In total, 19 projects worth €200 million have been approved in vital sectors of recovery,” stated First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yuliia Svyrydenko. “One of them will deliver the first 10 of 40 firefighting and rescue robots from Shark Robotics this summer. This partnership with France is already transforming into real results for Ukrainian communities.”
In addition to financing, France has mobilized leading companies to deliver these projects. GE Vernova contributes to energy resilience, Dessintey and Schiller Medical support healthcare, and DMS Imaging enhances medical diagnostics.
These partnerships underscore the practical dimension of Franco-Ukrainian cooperation, combining international expertise with local needs to support Ukraine’s recovery and resilience.
As The Gaze reported earlier, France is set to significantly increase the production of its AASM Hammer guided bombs in 2025, providing enhanced firepower to Ukraine as the war with Russia continues.
