Another Round of Peace Talks Between Ukraine, US, Russia Underway in Saudi Arabia

On Monday, peace talks between the delegations of the United States, Ukraine and Russia have been taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for the second day. First, the US side met with the Ukrainian side, and then met separately with the Russians. After that, the US is expected to talk to Ukraine again.
According to Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umevov, the conversation with the Americans was ‘productive and focused’, he wrote on social media platform X.
‘The discussion was productive and focused. We discussed key issues, including energy,’ he said.
Prior to the meeting, Umerov said that the conversation would be largely technical and that the Ukrainian delegation included energy experts and military officers from the maritime and air components.
Ukraine's Foreign Ministry previously said that the meeting should ‘determine the parameters of the proposals for various ceasefire regimes that are on the table today’.
Details of the talks have not yet been disclosed, although the Kremlin has already said that the focus of discussions between Russia and the US is the resumption of the Black Sea Grain Initiative, from which Moscow withdrew in 2023.
‘This was President Trump's proposal and President Putin agreed to it. It was with this mandate that our delegation went to Riyadh,’ Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented.
As The Gaze reported, a few days ago, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed during a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump that Ukraine agrees to a ceasefire on energy and civilian infrastructure and is going to continue peace talks in Saudi Arabia.
