Apple Alumni Unveil World's First Screenless Smartphone

Humane AI, founded by former Apple employees, has officially introduced its latest creation, a screenless gadget with an integrated AI named AI Pin. This information is reported by The Verge.
This compact AI assistant can perform tasks typically associated with modern smartphones and digital assistants like Siri or Alexa. However, it operates solely through voice commands and a virtual screen on the user's wrist. The device is priced at $700, with an additional monthly subscription fee of $24 for Humane, which includes a dedicated phone number for AI Pin. The AI assistant is available in three colors: Eclipse, Equinox, and Lunar, and it features a magnetic clip for attachment to clothing. Additionally, this clip serves as a battery storage and contains a pair of backup batteries.
AI Pin is equipped with a wide-angle RGB camera, depth sensors, and motion sensors that allow the device to "see the world as humans do." It runs on a Snapdragon processor with Qualcomm AI Engine software, and its operating system is called Cosmos OS. Humane collaborates with Microsoft and OpenAI to provide AI Pin access to powerful AI models.
The primary function of Pin is to connect to AI models through software called AI Mic. Humane claims that access to ChatGPT is one of the device's core functions. Its Cosmos operating system is designed to automatically direct user requests to the necessary tools, eliminating the need to download and manage applications.
The device also eliminates the need for extensive settings and user accounts for management. The idea is for users to interact with Pin simply through conversation. Over the past year, there has been a surge in features accessible through simple text commands to chatbots, and Humane aims to create a gadget with the same philosophy.
However, information regarding battery life and the device's security level remains unknown. AI Pin is set to be available for purchase in early 2024.
As a reminder, The Gaze has been talking about telephone etiquette — although the classification of such norms is conditional and often differs depending on age, social or national characteristics, there are universal standards that will help you avoid awkward situations during telephone conversations.
