Ukraine Starts School Year with “Mriia” Education Platform in 2,000 Schools

Ukraine has launched the first full academic year with its nationwide digital education ecosystem “Mriia,” now adopted by more than 2,000 schools across all 24 regions – roughly every sixth Ukrainian school.
The Gaze reports this, referring to a post by Mykhailo Fedorov, First Deputy Prime Minister and Digital Transformation Minister.
The platform, a joint initiative of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, and the Ministry of Education and Science, aims to modernize learning by reducing teachers’ paperwork, expanding student opportunities, and fostering greater parental involvement.
According to Fedorov, “Mriia” now reaches more than one million participants. The system replaces paper journals with digital tools, integrates artificial intelligence to recommend educational content, and will eventually design individual learning paths for children.
“It is only the beginning. This year we are launching an extracurricular catalog, from 2026 piloting preschools will begin and the development of a concept for higher education institutions. Thus, for the first time, a single digital ecosystem will unite several levels of education,” Fedorov said.
Education Minister Oksen Lisovyi emphasized earlier that the platform frees up teachers’ time for direct work with pupils, making the learning process more transparent and child-focused.
The application already offers students engaging content from leading educational platforms, tailored to their interests with the help of AI.
Beyond streamlining classrooms, “Mriia” also partners with socially responsible businesses. A new in-app rewards shop will allow students to exchange achievements for cinema tickets, VR quests, books, and other items.
Launched in pilot form in 2024 and opened nationwide in April 2025, “Mriia” is envisioned as Ukraine’s first integrated digital ecosystem covering every stage of education, from kindergarten to adult learning, with the long-term goal of embedding lifelong learning in society.
As The Gaze reported earlier, Ukraine has officially launched its first online master’s program in artificial intelligence, supported by the Ministry of Digital Transformation and developed by online Neoversity.
