Arms Market and Military Technology Exchange: Ukraine and Norway Sign Agreement
Ukraine and Norway have signed an agreement that enables joint research and development of military technologies and allows for the exchange of information on the arms market.
This was announced by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine on the evening of 13 November.
The agreement, according to Defence Minister Umerov, opens up new opportunities for the exchange of information on the arms market, joint research and development of innovative military technologies.
According to the head of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry, deepening cooperation with NATO partners will increase the efficiency of planning and supply of weapons, which is critical to repelling Russian aggression.
‘Together, we are strengthening Ukraine's defence capabilities and the security of the whole of Europe,’ Umerov said.
‘Continuous support of the Defence Procurement Agency is of great importance to us and is one of our priorities. In addition, the experience of the Ukrainian Agency allows us to understand how the NDMA can function in a war. This provides us with important knowledge for further development of our own processes,’ said Gru Jare, Head of the Norwegian Defence Material Agency, after signing the document.
Two project groups have been set up in Oslo and Kyiv to facilitate cooperation between the agencies. Training has already been conducted, including in contract and project management, risk management, human resources management, international arbitration, etc. This allows the Defence Procurement Agency to develop its professional capabilities.
