In the St George's Hall of Windsor Castle, a beautiful Christmas tree has already been installed, standing at almost seven meters tall. This year's Christmas theme is dedicated to the 675th anniversary of the Order of the Garter, the oldest honor of England.

This was reported by the Royal Collection Trust website.

The main festive tree at Windsor Castle is adorned with over 2,000 lights, as well as ribbons made of velvet and satin. A festive star is placed at the top of the tree in honor of the 675th anniversary of the Order of the Garter, which was founded in 1348 and is considered the oldest order in the United Kingdom.

In total, eight Christmas trees have been set up at Windsor Castle. Among them, a Christmas tree has appeared in the famous Crimson Drawing Room, formerly used as the private apartments of King George IV, and now serving as a location for official entertainment for the royal family.

The castle's grand staircase is adorned with Christmas decorations, reminiscent of this year's coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla.

Everyone interested can enjoy the beauty of Windsor Castle's Christmas and extraordinary singing of local choirs until January 1, 2024.

A characteristic tradition of British Christmas is Christmas cards. A similar gift was first sent in the 1840s. Now, over a billion cards are sent in the country every year before Christmas.

The interesting thing is that it was thanks to Great Britain that the tradition of decorating a Christmas tree before Christmas spread widely in the world. In 1848, the "Illustrated London News" published an image in which Queen Victoria, Prince Albert, and their children stood by the Christmas tree. This became an example to follow.

Today, the main tree of the United Kingdom is placed in Trafalgar Square in London. Traditionally, since 1947, this tree is delivered from Oslo, Norway, as a sign of gratitude from Norwegians for the help of Great Britain during World War II.

On the eve, the main tree was also installed in Kyiv, Ukraine. Despite the genocide war unleashed by Russia, the Ukrainian capital preserves traditions for children. Recall that last year's main Christmas tree of Ukraine entered the top five best Christmas trees in the world.

Then, the tree received the symbolic name 'Christmas tree of invincibility,' because the year 2022 became one of the most challenging in the Ukrainian history - Russia massively attacked Ukrainian cities with missiles and Iranian suicide drones, trying to leave millions of people without light, water, and heating.

Recall earlier, The Gaze reported that the royal family of Great Britain is assessing damages from allegations of racism.
