UK Prepares for Two Simultaneous Wars: Against Russia and China

Senior British military officials are warning of the danger of simultaneous armed conflict between the West and Russia and China if the United Kingdom and NATO countries do not accelerate their rearmament, according to former British Army Chief of the General Staff General Patrick Sanders.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to The Times.
According to Sanders, the British Ministry of Defence has already developed contingency plans to respond to a possible ‘double crisis,’ and former military leaders are modelling such a scenario.
He stressed that the situation could unfold within the next two years if NATO fails to rebuild its weakened armed forces.
In a comment on The General and The Journalist podcast, Sanders described the potential course of events: the conflict could begin with a large-scale clash in the Indo-Pacific region — for example, with China's invasion of Taiwan, which would force the US to redeploy forces from Europe.
In response, Russia could seize the opportunity to attack part of NATO territory — for example, the Baltic states or the strategic area of Spitsbergen — in order to gain local advantage.
‘Having captured a limited territory, they will hide behind the nuclear umbrella and challenge NATO: go ahead, if you dare. The stakes are extremely high, but the payoff for Putin is even higher,’ Sanders explained.
In such a scenario, Russia and China would likely be supported by Iran and North Korea.
‘If NATO is unable to come to the aid of an allied country and stop the invasion, it will effectively mean the end of NATO. So this is a double threat that will have global consequences,’ Sanders said.
EU Defence Commissioner Andrius Kubilius shares the assessment of Western intelligence that Russia could attack EU countries within the next few years.
A recent assessment by the Federal Intelligence Service (BND) and the German Armed Forces indicates that Russia sees itself in a systemic conflict with the West and is preparing for a major war with NATO.
As The Gaze reported earlier, the United Kingdom is ready to send ‘its troops and planes’ to Ukraine to support a possible peace agreement.
