UK Announces Historic Tenfold Increase in Drone Deliveries to Ukraine

The United Kingdom has committed a record £350 million in support of Ukraine, marking a dramatic escalation in its military aid. This investment will enable the delivery of 100,000 drones to Ukraine in 2025, a significant increase from the 10,000 drones supplied in the previous year.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to the UK Ministry of Defence.
This increase in drone deliveries is part of the UK's broader £4.5 billion military aid package for Ukraine this year. The move comes as Ukraine's Armed Forces have demonstrated the effectiveness of drone warfare in repelling Russian advances and protecting civilians.
The UK Ministry of Defence highlighted that the drones, which include first-person view (FPV) models and interceptors designed to disrupt Russian missile and drone attacks, are proving instrumental on the frontlines. Ukrainian forces have confirmed that drones are now causing more damage to Russian equipment than traditional artillery.
The £350 million investment will be directed towards bolstering drone production by UK defense companies, with a focus on small and medium-sized enterprises, contributing to the British economy while supporting Ukraine’s war effort.
In addition to the drones, the UK is investing further in Ukraine's defense capabilities, including a £247 million allocation for the Interflex program to train Ukrainian recruits on British soil. The program has already trained over 55,000 Ukrainian soldiers since 2022.
The UK's Defense Secretary, John Healey, also confirmed that 140,000 artillery munitions have been supplied to Ukraine since the beginning of 2025, and that further investments are being made in equipment procurement and training through NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine mission.
